Anime Marathon!

Hiyah! How are you folks today? It's almost the weekend and I'm pretty exited. You know what the weekend means? Anime Marathon!
Yup, yup.
I don't know how many of you are interested in these things but I thought I'd rattle off an anime or two that would be good weekend material - especially if you've got a bowl of popcorn and a plate of brownies in your lap. ^_~

Kaicho wa Maidsama is great if you're looking for a funny chic-flic. Here's a link that gives you the basic story plot - Kaicho wa Maidsama!

Another that'll keep you on the edge of your seats is Shinrei Tantei Yakumo. A mystery series that focuses on the spirit world but, it has hints of romance too. Here's the link to read more - Psychic Detective Yakumo

Until next time!

Anime Marathons are amazing. I am glad that I am not the only one who does this. I don't know about you, but I did this ritually every Friday night (worked better for me than Saturday because of church on Sunday).

I guess it all started when Inuyasha stopped airing. I grew up with that show. Because our vcr was incapable of recording things (my family line is an entire generation of tech killers), I would sneak out of bed every school night for an hour to watch it. I even braved using the microwave to cook ramen, an even more terrifying act than turning the T.V. on.

Years later, I guess I missed it. So anime marathons became the tradition. Mostly, I would select a multitude of series and watch an episode of each one, then I would end the night with a Miazaki movie. Unless of course I found a series so addicting that I just couldn't contain myself. But there was something about waiting in anticipation that made it more worthwhile. There were also times that I would let nostalgia take over and re-watch Sailor Moon. Either way, no marathon was complete without my favorite snack foods. And my dad wondered why I saved my Ramune all week, only to have it disappear.

But then I discovered asian drama. Since the episodes were longer, it was conflicting. But I did the same thing.

Netflix however was the best thing that happened for my anime marathons. Usually I would be limited to an assortment of DVDs and my computer. Not only did Netflix offer great series, but it brought back that feeling of doing something even more sneaky by turning up the volume on the T.V. and risk getting caught.

I haven't really had the chance to do this since moving out though, on the exception of a few sleepovers at my friends house. I can only hope that reading this post doesn't send me into withdrawals.
